Arthur Pugh,  is widely known as an educator / clinician and performing artist. Currently, he is a freelance musician and music educator; graduate  of The Hartt School of Music with a BS. in Music Ed. / Special Ed., West Virginia University with a  Master of Music., Harvard University Ph.D. and again to The Hartt School of  Music for  his DMA.. Dr. Pugh has previously taught public and private school in Connecticut, West VirginiaPennsylvania and Georgia. He’s been Dean of the Music dept. & Professor of Trumpet at Morris Brown College, on the graduate faculty of San Jose State (now San Jose University), serving as its director of education outreach. While there, he developed eight educational and community outreach programs, which included college fellowships in interactive performance and teaching, community engagement initiatives, and the Music Advancement Program, a Saturday instrumental music program that reaches underserved children ages 8 to 14 who demonstrated musical potential and need. 

           As a professional trumpet player, he is a skilled musician in classical, commercial, and jazz idioms, currently playing trumpet for television and movie soundtracks as well as Jingles, Record Dates, Video Games and a good deal of 'live music such as Las Vegas and Broadway shows. He has given master classes and recitals at Hartt School of   music, Boston University, and given lectures at the Curtis Institute, Oberlin College, and Harvard University. His performing affiliations have included the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Hartford Symphony, Chestnut Hill Symphony, UAE Philharmonic Orchestra (Dubai), Venezuela Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Puerto Rico to name a few. Commercially, he has recorded, toured with or written for, Angela Bofill, Ashford & Simpson, Gladys Knight, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, M.F.S.B, Isaac Hayes, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Barry Manilow, Mel Torme, Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Celia Cruz, Bobby Rodriguez y La co., Clark Terry, Jackie McLean, Teddy Pendergrass, Blondie and has been the recipient of 37 gold & platinum albums with over 387 movie soundtracks to his credit.                  

       While in Ga., they contracted him to design and develop the music & arts program for some of the state's charter schools (K-5). Pugh’s principal teachers include Sigmund Herring, Roger Murtha, Roger Sherman and Robert Nagel, founder of the New York Brass Quintet. Since being here, Dr. Pugh has also had success with seven of his trumpet students from Georgia and Pennsylvania, recently being accepted to Juilliard. (two 1st yr. Students, one in his 2nd year and one in her   3rd yr. plus three graduates) Dr. Pugh started “The Trumpeters Studio” in the southern crescent area in 2006.
